Someone affected with a red-green color-blindness, will be able to distinguish between colors that they couldn’t previously.
EnChroma’s glasses, look like sunglasses and they boost the saturation of red and green light. This has the effect of improving colour vision for anyone with the red-green color-blindness.
These glasses came about when Don McPherson, who earned his PhD in glass science at Alfred University was trying to design protective eye wear for doctors performing laser surgeries. When a friend tried on the glasses during a sports game, they realized the technology’s true potential. McPherson’s friend happened to be colorblind, and the glasses has a surprising effect.
