The Wilberforce Trust
The Wilberforce Trust traces its roots back to 1833 when the Yorkshire School for the Blind was opened in York. Wilberforce today supports people in their own homes as well as supported accommodation for tenants in Wilberforce houses in York and Tadcaster.
The Wilberforce Trust are committed to supporting people with sight loss, we do this through our supported accommodation, low vision clinic, visual awareness training and activities within the living and learning zone.

This is the ethos that Yorsight takes forward with dedicated work in low vision and sight loss services.
Yorsight works alongside our Yorsensory service, York’s newest service for people with sight loss, hearing loss or both. The Yorsensory hub provides a range of support, advice, equipment demonstration, activities and groups.
